Kris Allen has released his next single -- this time, without the help of 'No Boundaries' scribe Kara DioGuardi (yay!)
Titled 'Live Like We're Dying,' the uptempo single is a cover of a song originally recorded by The Script, an Irish pop rock band. The song appeared on one of the band's B-sides, and will reportedly be featured on Allen's Nov. 17 release.

Season 8 winner Kris Allen's debut CD has found a release date.
According to his Twitter account, the untitled disc -- featuring collaborations with Joe King, Mat Kearney and Salaam Remi -- will hit stores on Nov. 17, giving fans plenty of time to forget about 'No Boundaries.'
Meanwhile, runner-up Adam Lambert told
PEOPLE he is about "halfway done" with his album.
"We did a lot of work on it right before the tour started. I wrote a lot with various producers and writers and recorded a handful of songs," he said.
