Elliott’s Debut CD a Huge Success
Elliott Yamin debuted his self-titled album on March 20th and has sold over 90,000 + units the first week of release. Elliott has entered the Billboard album charts at #3 and the independent album charts at #1, making him the highest new artist debut on an independent label in soundscan history.
Elliott is one of the first American Idol finalists to release a CD independently. He has created a new model for success by using a forward thinking strategy through his liaison with Three Ring Projects, Sony/ATV Hickory Records, Croshal Entertainment Group, Pulse Recording and RED Distribution.
Highlighted by being at the top of charts on all retail fronts, the project came out strong the first week when Elliott Yamin was launched as the #1 Pop Album on iTunes. His single, “Wait For You,” is gaining significant traction at Top 40 Radio and has garnered over two dozen ads this week.
On the media front, Elliott debuted the video from his first single “Wait For You” on TRL and Yahoo! on March 20th. He also appeared on Regis and Kelly, Ellen, E! and FOX national television. Elliott will also perform the Jimmy Kimmel show on April 4th.
Fans have also had a chance to meet Elliott at a number of in-store appearances during release week. He signed and greeted fans' copies of the CD at the Virgin Mega Store at Times Square in New York City, FYE in West Nyack, NY and Circuit City in Richmond, Virginia. Elliott also performed songs and signed CDs at Best Buy in West Hollywood, CA on Saturday, March 24th.
Elliott’s unique signing story began when he and co-manager Jeff Rabhan of Three Ring Projects brought the project to Danny Strick at Sony ATV Music Publishing. Strick initially signed him as a writer and set up the Hickory label with Elliott as partner. It was a unique match created to benefit Elliott and showcase his tremendous talent.
Comments Rabhan: “When beginning this project, we looked at the landscape and realized that the only way to take control was to find like-minded partners. We wanted to create a model that worked for everyone both creatively and financially and that’s exactly what has happened. This is definitely the most exciting record that I have been a part of for some time.”
