Check out the Grapevine below for just a few of the ongoing chats. Add your own opinion--sign up for a MyIdol account today! As much as I adore Taylor and he's always been my number one, my favorite ALBUM is Kelly Clarkson's BREAKAWAY. ?Õ?JamieHicks10 Instead of a James Bond theme, they should just have a movie theme. Any song from a movie can be sung. ?Õ?VonzellForLife YES!! 2 of my all-time favorites won big-time at the AMA's! Idol was well represented, especially at the beginning of the show, when Jimmy Kimmel brought Jordin and Pickler on stage to do a dance. Then Carrie presented an award to Daughtry! Idolmania was rampant!!! So cool!! ?Õ?lunchladylee Congrats to the 3 Idols on the countdown. Elliott should be joining them soon. I love how Jordin has Blake dancing at the end of her video. I wonder if Blake will have Jordin in his first video? ?Õ?zcatz Congratulations to both Carrie and Chris on their impressive wins tonight. Fans of both have a lot to be proud of. ?Õ?wolfpup_88 If you go by record sales and tours, then some idols have done much better than others, but if you define success as being able to perform and make music the way you want to make it, then many idols have been successful. Idol has opened doors for many young people to have careers in the entertainment industry, and not just in singing but acting, hosting, dancing, performing, etc. ?Õ?harlequin A co-worker last night brought up the idea of "The 12 Days of Christmas" with various Idol alumni! Could you imagine Kellie Pickler asking what all the items are throughout the whole song, or Paula professing her love for everyone while sentimentally crying! LOL! ?Õ?IDOL_JUNKY32 American Idol is a show that lends itself to "discovering" new talent every season, and without this show I wouldn't have been exposed to such wonderful new talent EVERY season...there is room in this world for both men (Chris and Taylor) to continue to make wonderful music for us to enjoy and for many of us to continue to enjoy them BOTH ?Õ?greeneyes49 Is anyone going to the stagecoach country music festival in California? Carrie, Kellie, and Bucky are all going to be there! There are going to be a lot of country acts as well. ?Õ?harlow Elliott's video "Wait For You" was number #1 on the countdown for a long time, and also part of the top 20 for quite awhile. I am sure his new video "One Word" will soon be up there, as it is great. ?Õ?crislovesmusic

“Idol” Grapevine

The word on the boards is that the Hollywood week American Idol show was definitely up to the high standards that have been set after all these years.  The judges were on their game even though some of the contestants were not.  There were some average performances, a few great ones, and then the occasional stand-outs.  Check out the comments below to hear what’s buzzing on the Idol Grapevine.  If you’d like to add your two cents, do so by either starting a thread or writing a recap on the MyIdol message boards.  If we like your fan recap, we might even use it as the official Americanidol.com show recap.  Or we might just choose an excerpt for the “'Idol' Grapevine.”  Either way, let us know what you think! Well last week I said that the 172 gold ticket winners looked like they had been roasted, grilled and filleted. After watching this weeks show, add flambeed, poached and charbroiled and picture me pickled in brine. Whew! That was some workout!  -Deanie79 If It Walks Like a Shakira and It Talks Like a Shakira, It must be Perla Meneses.  –tellab2 Baylie gets stuck with the east-coast BFF’s – and poor thing – it is going to cost her. While Amanda is complaining and then flirting –the other 2 are left to drown – or go to bed.  –FairyTalesAusies I was quite impressed with the 4 guys who did the hip hop/beat box version of the Bee Gees' “How Deep Is Your Love.” I bet Barry & Robin enjoyed it and Maurice is smiling down from heaven.  –ibrmg At first the contestants are herded through in groups of 6 with 30 seconds to wow the judges with their "it factor", voice and showmanship.  –kkppwm Does anyone else think that the phenomenal guy quartet should be thanking their lucky stars for the beat box champion? They were all making fun of his choreography early on….but that performance was SMOKING!  -Icoffman In the end, Baylie got cut and the drama ensued. Amanda said they got through because “God likes good people.” Did she seriously just say that?!?!?!  -Irhflute I may be wrong but I don't think the AI hair stylists will get to cut the locks of Sean Michel but they may get to work on Jimmy McNeal's corn rows.  –Deanie 79 If you stuck your head out your window at about 8:55 last night you probably heard 35 million people go, “Awwwwwww.” That was about the time Sanjaya Malakar, who made it to the group of 40, ran into his sister, Shyamali Malakar, who didn’t.  –tellab2 Check out the photos from Hollywood week!

“Idol” Grapevine

The boards are abuzz with talk of the talented, the “talent challenged”, and the just plain strange from last night’s San Antonio audition show. Check out some of the interesting “Idol chatter” from the MyIdol boards below. Have something to add? Start a thread or write your own recap and submit it via the MyIdol message boards. If we like your recap, we might even feature it as our official fan recap for Americanidol.com. Or we might just use a sentence or two for the “’Idol’ Grapevine.” Either way, we want to hear your take on what went down each week, so give us you “Idol” perspective. Our next contestant was Bailey Brown--sixteen year old country girl with big city dreams and a love for fashion. You could hear the ca-ching-chings of the cash register as she sang "Stronger" by Faith Hill...three yeas and lots of prepping for stardom. –Deanie79 If Jake "The Snake" Tutor takes Simon's suggestion of singing in a dark bedroom, I hope his neighbors have earplugs. –ibrmg Haley S – love her voice, love her look, love the timbre, love her vibrato – she needs to find her own personal style as she is a combination of Kelly Clarkson and Katherine McPhee right now….but I still love her. –FairyTalesAusies Jasmine – Does it really Matter? Seriously… - Note: Did anyone read the sign her friends were holding? It read, “Jasmine ARE the next American Idol.” Huh? -DaHarder2k We have an expression in Newfoundland: as slow as cold molasses running uphill in December...which describes the speed with which William Green sang "Amazing Grace.” Was he trying to make it last for an eternity? I suspect he knew himself and was there to give his cousin, Akron Watson, support. -Deanie79 Though William Green's Grace wasn't Amazing, his fake-out rant against the judges so he could maintain his rep was a hoot! –ibrmg San Antonio was just like the rest of America, I am sorry to say. You have a few raisins in a bag full of nuts. –SLBURKE73 Akron Watson – reminds me of Terrance Trent D’Arby and I LOVE his voice – he is terrific! Absolutely mature when saying “he said he was bored and I don’t want him to be bored” – and he handles it with class – LOVE HIM! –FairyTalesAusies
